Antara Foto / M Agung Rajasa, Jakarta: Jakarta Province Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok again made another breakthrough in the health sector. Ahok is preparing personal doctors for 1,250 citizens in Jakarta, especially those with unprivileged or impoverished backgrounds.

Ahok said the personal doctor concept is totally free. He added that by the establishment of this program, it will provide easier access for unprivileged Jakartans unable to conduct medical checkups to the hospital.

"Our concept is that they who are unprivileged will have personal doctors for free," Ahok said in the inauguration of 'Gerakan Ketuk Pintu Layani dengan Hati,' at the Pinus Elok Flats, Cakung, East Jakarta, Sunday (5/24/2015).

He thinks that the personal doctor concept is similar to the existing ones abroad. He explained the personal doctors here are as health consultants. In other words, for unprivileged Jakarta citizens experiencing health problems, they may consult with the assigned doctors based on the citizen's identity.

Ahok continued that they can ask directly about the symptoms they feel through short messages, phone, or if it is an emergency, the doctors may attend in personal.

"If you have Jakarta ID card, you can get A or B as the doctors, along with their phone numbers. If you're dizzy or nauseous, ask the doctor. He will advise you not to drink beer or not to smoke, for example," he elaborated.

But Ahok added if the person advised by the doctor declines from applying the suggestions, then he/she will be blacklisted.

"The citizen data collection is now ongoing, so it will be visible until 2016, for all Jakarta regions except the wealthy who possesses private insurance," he concluded. (Eps)
