Jokowi Grieves at Air Force's Hercules Crash
President Joko Widodo. Antara / Widodo S Jusuf, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo conveyed his condolences on the Air Force Hercules C-130's accident at Jamin Ginting Road, Medan, yesterday noon, killing more than 100 people.

"Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun, I personally on behalf of all Indonesian citizens would like to convey our condolences on the incident which took the lives of Air Force's best personnel and all victims of the tragedy," the President said during the commemoration of the 69th Bhayangkara Day at the Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters, Akses UI Road, Kelapa Dua, Depok, Wednesday (7/1/2015).
Jokowi hoped the incident will not reoccur in the future. He asked all related parties to work swiftly in resolving the problems emerged due to the incident. "Hopefully the spirits of the casualties rest in peace. Hopefully the families left behind received patience and strength," Jokowi said.
President Jokowi was accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, as well as First Lady Iriana and Mufidah Kalla. During the ceremony, the field was filled with the Police's equipment, starting from the helicopter, Barracuda armored vehicle, anti-riot vehicle, tear gas vehicle, ambulance and patrol cars both from Traffic and Sabhara Units. The ceremony, taking place at 09.00AM went solemnly well.
As informed, Hercules C-130 with flight number A1310 from Indonesian Air Force carrying 122 passengers had crashed in Letjen Jamin Ginting Road, Padang Bulan, Medan, Sumatera Utara, Tuesday June 30, 2015.

The incident occurred at around 11.48AM, or two minutes following the take off from Soewondo Air Force Base, Medan. The aircraft was a grant from the United States in 1964. (Eps)
