Today, Jokowi Inaugurates Military and Intelligence Agency Chiefs

The inauguration of both state officials is to be conducted simultaneously. 

The inauguration is scheduled at 12.45 local time (WIB) at the State Palace, Wednesday (7/8/2015).

Yesterday, Gatot confirmed the inauguration plan today. "It is true the information I have acquired," he stated following a breaking of the fast event with the President at the Military Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday July 7.

Gatot is an alumni of the Military Academy class of 1982. He gained experience in the Army's Strategic Command's green beret infantry unit. The general was also posted as the Commander of Army educational command, Regional Military Commander V/Brawijaya and the Governor of the Military Academy.

Meanwhile, Sutiyoso is a retired military official posted as the Deputy Commander General of the Army's Special Force Command (Kopassus). Following his retirement, Sutiyoso headed Jakarta Provincial Government for two periods, 2002 to 2012, before replaced by Fauzi Bowo.

The agreement letter from the House of Representatives on the new intelligence agency and military chiefs has been acquired by Jokowi. All administrative requirements for both Gatot and Sutiyoso were also completed.

Following the inauguration of Gatot and Sutiyoso, Jokowi is to lead a limited meeting at 14.00 to discuss 87 drafts of law related to new autonomous regions. An hour later, the president will also lead a meeting on regional elections. Both meetings, taking place at the president's office, will be attended by related parties, as at 17.00, Jokowi is scheduled to break the fast with local media managements. (Eps)
