Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama offered the City Hall as a place to mediate between the labors and several ministers. Jakarta's number one man said it is better for the labor meeting to be centered at one point.

"So I have offered that if the Health Minister and the Employment Ministry want to meet labors, I am willing to provide this place (City Hall) so that the labors would easily come. I'll even prepare meals," said Ahok at the City Hall, Monday afternoon (8/31/2015).

Today, thousands of labors are to surround the capital, as they are conducting demonstrations at the HI Roundabout and Presidential Palace.

Jakarta Chief of Police, Inspector General Tito Karnavian hopes for the labor unions not to conduct a long march when conducting the demonstration, as it is considered to be disruptive to other Jakarta citizens' activities.

"The problem is that this is a working day, we, from the officials urged that they would not disrupt, as the points are quite important, of course, as we are protecting other public interests. We advice to be conducted at the meeting points in Monas area," said Tito when conducting a meeting with the workers union at the Jakarta Police Headquarters, South Jakarta (8/29/2015).

Tito thinks that the demo on September 1 is different than the May 1 demo, which is set as the national holiday by the government. "Therefore, if there are road blocks, it will disrupt the whole part of the road. The people who would conduct their activities and using the streets, such as those who are sick and disrupted from riding in an ambulance, it is our problem," he explained.

It is known that on September 1, KSPI, KSP Andigani, Ilhamsyah and several other labor unions are to conduct a simultaneous demonstration in 20 provinces. Said Iqbal said there are at least 48,000 mass crowd heading to Bunderan HI to conduct a March to Monas.

However, several of their demands are among others to lower the price of fuel and goods, asking the government to take steps in preventing layoffs, cutting off the easing of foreign workers to enter Indonesia.
