The policy is not to give room for foreigners to find work freely in Indonesia.

"The government has taken the commitment to provide visa excerpt to boost tourism. Not for business purpose, the visa," said Yasonna in a work meeting of the Commission III with the Ministey of Law and Human Rights in the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, Thursday (9/3/2015).

The commission has criticized the procedure of visa excerpt by the immigration of the ministry to the foreign citizens entering Indonesia. They have also found many violations related to the visa excerpt.

In its supervision, Yasonna claimed his party has performed well and thorough. Not all countries may obtain visa excerpt to Indonesia, as his party keeps coordinating with several law enforcers so the visa excerpt does not cause any problems.

"From the visa excerpt regulation, we scan thoroughly. Not from the countries with infectious diseases or having radical ideologies. We keep on coordinating with the Coordinating Ministry of Politics, Law and Security, National Intelligence Agency, the police and Terrorism Prevention Agency in taking the visa excerpt," he stated.

According to him, the visa excerpt may enhance Indonesian economy, as tourism visit increases. "We are trying hard to enhance the tourism sector, as it will grow the economy swiftly," he said.

Previously, on September 1, 2015, the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime, along with the Ministry of Tourism have agreed to add the number of countries obtaining free visa to 47 others to gain entry in Indonesia.

In the beginning, the two ministries have proposed to free the visa in as many as 50 countries. However, after the evaluation, there were several countries being scraped out, as it resulted in 47 countries.

But according to the Coordinating Minister Rizal Ramli, the problematic countries regarding drugs, stability and radicalism exports will not be given visa excerpts.

On the other hand, the Tourism Minister Arif Yahya said, based on the decision, there are 92 countries able to gain entry to Indonesia without a visa. In the previous stage, there were 45 countries passed with visa excerpts.
