Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: For some parents, sexual education for their children is still considered as a taboo. However, it is important to be taught to children.

"Sexual education should be taught prior to puberty. It should be since early age," said psychologist Vera Itabiliana in Jakarta, Saturday (9/12/2015).

Actually, sex education for children has been taught by the parents since early age without being aware.

"Actually every family has taught sex education to the children, like on how to pee, how to clean it, the names of penis, vagina. It is included as sex education for children in their early age," she mentioned.

She also thinks that as they grow, sexual education should still be given to children by adding and realizing what needs to be informed according to their age.

The number of teenagers watching porn is currently rising as they say it is part of the sexual education. There are also those conducting pre-marital sex or free sex, resulting in pre-marital pregnancy.

It is all due to the lack of knowledge of people about the correct sexual education.

"The best way in conducting sexual education is by chatting. Chat with the parents, as families each has their own perspective and culture," affirmed Vera.
