Jakarta Police to Deploy 6,000 to Guard National Strike

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Jakarta Metro Police has prepared its personnel to guard national strike demanding government to revoke government regulation on wage. The strike will be held from 24 to 27 November.

"Jakarta Metro Police ready to guard the strike. We prepare 6,000 officers," said Jakarta Metro Police Spoke Person Muhammad Iqbal in Jakarta Metro Police headquarter, Monday (11/23/2015)

According to Iqbal, police will guard the event based on report from intelligence. Iqbal reminded labors who violate the law during the strike will be dealt firmly.

"They must do it orderly. Sweeping or closing highway gate will not be allowed," he said,

Iqbal said police will also guard industrial area. Police will deploy water cannon in those area.

"The locations are Bekasi, Pulo Gadung, Marunda, Tanjung Priok and Tangerang," he said.

More over, Iqbal advised labors to voice their demand orderly.

"Strike is legal. It is mentioned in the law. But they must do it orderly. I think labors has understood that," he said.
