Illustration (Photo: MI/Usman Iskandar), Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) Board of Governors Meeting decided to maintain its interest rate at 7.5 percent. BI believed opportunity to ease monetary policy is more open due to macro economy stability in 2015 especially inflation rate which is under 3 percent.
"Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting today decded to maintain BI rate at 7.5 percent with deposit facility rate at 5.5 percent and lending facility rate at eight percent," said BI's Communication Director Tirta Segara in BI headquarter, Jakarta, Thursday (12/17/2015).
He explained BI rate is maintained in its position because inflation is predicted to be under 3 percent in the end of the year. Current account deficit is also predicted only around two percent from growth domestic products (GDP).
However, BI will continue to observe global financial market after United States (US) Federal Reserve increased its interest rate. It will also monitor situation in domestic market.
"We will observe situation in global financial market. We will guard condition in domestic market," he concluded.
